Rambling in Northern Italy

What better way to discover the secrets of the Ferrara region, than to ramble through the vast flood plain created by the River Po? The region is a horizon without mountains; a landscape washed by the great River Po; wetland stretches of water - fresh and salty; farmland, divided up by embankments; former river banks and shorelines; the woodland, the pines and the many nature reserves: all these make up the varied and rich natural heritage of the Ferrara region.

Casa di Antonio is an English run bed and breakfast set in the heart of this region, and an ideal base for our visitors who wish to experience the real life and culture of Italy. Tony & Karen run Casa di Antonio and have built up good background knowledge of the best places for walking, and what you can see where. We have dedicated pages on our website to rambling in the Po Delta (see events and activities pages and click on the rambling link)

We are situated in the province of Ferrara and within an hour’s drive from Bologna airport, which is served by 3 British Airways flights per day from Gatwick. Ryanair also fly in from Stansted and Birmingham, and Easyjet fly from Gatwick and Bristol to Venice.

If any of your members would like to discover this wonderful area, we will offer a discount of 15 euro per night on our advertised rates based on 2 sharing, for members of your club during 2010.
