Lake District Visit - October 2010

Is anyone interested in going to the Lake District again? This year we are going to try and avoid the crowds by going for a mid-week visit. Ian and I will lead walks on Tues 12th and Wed 13th October. The trip will be based in Keswick where there is a Youth Hostel and numerous bed and breakfast establishments. We propose to let everyone make their own arrangements about accommodation; hopefully it will be possible to share transport. We will meet up for the walks and also for an evening meal.

Details of the walks will be finalised nearer the time but are likely to include Glaramara and Dale Head, however we are open to other suggestions at this stage. Both walks will be 11 to 12 miles and involve some steep climbs. The grade will be S+, making them of a similar standard to last year. There are also lots of alternatives for shorter walks in the area. Numbers will have to be limited but if anyone would like to help with the leading then we could be more flexible with this.
